Hyper Heart 5k Race

The Hyper Heart 5k is a walk/run that will be held on May 30, 2015 in Portland ME, and the location is 171 Auburn Street by Lyman Moore Middle School. It will happen in and by that school, as well as the nearby neighborhoods. Proceeds from this race will support the American Heart Association to cover testing, research, and treatment expenses for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, which is a heart condition that involves a thickened heart muscle. Though the race will start at 9:00 a.m., all runners are advised to arrive beforehand for registration and check-in. It is expected that it will end around 11:00.

Registration Fees:
-6 and under: $10.00
-Ages 7-14: $15.00
-Over 14 years: $20.00

For the first 35 race participants this fee will include a T-shirt. Anyone who signs up after that will have to pay an extra $5.00 for a race shirt. While money will only be collected at the race when you check-in or register, please reserve your spot today. To contact us email hyperheart5k@gmail.com to sign up, or ask questions.

Some things to keep in mind:

-This race is only for fun, and to grant better lives for people with HCM.

-There will be access to bathrooms inside the school.

-Race will be held rain or shine

-Walkers and runners must stick to the sidewalks or coned areas on the edges of the roads.

-Since volunteers will be located at intersections and turns in the roads, be sure to follow their directions in order to continue on the right course.

-Be mindful of others. Please refrain from disruptions that may bother the inhabitants of houses on the roads, and be kind to the other participants.

-Food and drinks will be provided, courtesy of Dunkin' Donuts' donation.  There will be a water station halfway through the race.

-Hyper Heart will only be accepting cash and checks. Please make checks payable to the American Heart Association. Sorry, we are unable to accept credit cards.

Now that you know about this race, spread the word! It takes many people to make a difference, so tell anyone you know who would be interested. For more information on different heart diseases take the time to visit coronaryarterydiseaseinfo.blogspot.com.
